Suzie Quinn · July Featured Artist Opening Reception

Join us for an evening with Suzie Quinn as she opens her month-long exhibition at Railroad Street Artworks.
A Rochester native, Suzie grew up near the shores of Lake Ontario in the Charlotte neighborhood. After years in Vermont and a career in the ski business and renewable energy, she returned to her hometown in 2018 and has been painting full-time ever since.
Her work is inspired by the beauty of the Finger Lakes and the historic buildings and street scenes of western New York. You’ll recognize the places — Abbott’s Custard, the Little Theatre, the Genesee Brewery, the House of Guitars, the Mercury statue on the downtown skyline, Jines Restaurant on Park Avenue — but Suzie’s expressive oil painting technique gives each scene a warmth and luminosity that makes you see them as if for the first time.
As a self-taught painter, she hones her craft through regular classes and workshops with local Finger Lakes and Rochester artists, and most recently at the Appolon Studio in Florence. Her paintings often balance nostalgia with immediacy, employing expressive, deliberate brushwork and color.
Come meet Suzie, see her work up close, and spend a summer evening surrounded by the places and people that make this region special. Light refreshments will be served.
